Fading Memories of Yesterday

<->

I’m sorting thru my fading memories of yesterday.

I worry that so many memories have gone away.

My mind is starting down a road where I don’t want to go.

I fear, that tomorrow, who I am I will not know.

Though, when I have arrived at this new world in my mind,

there is a type of happiness and peace that I will find.

So, when you come to visit me,

don’t long for who I used to be.

Stay beside me here,

as we work thru each fear.

As we do, we find we are as children, when they play.

Sorting thru each precious memory of yesterday.

We Each Walk With A Wooden Cane; Thinking Of Yesterday

<->

We each walk with a wooden cane,

to make sure we don’t fall.

We each know that some day soon

we may not walk at all.

Walking and talking, thinking of yesterday.

Thinking of all the things we’ve done along the way.

Some times of sadness, sorrow and tears.

Mostly of happiness found thru the years.

Children, neighbors, strangers and friends.

It’s wonderful, all of the guests God sends.

This dream has come true, it seems.

Walking, talking of yesterday’s dreams.

With So Many Parts of Me Gone On Ahead, How Will I Know When I'm Dead?

<->

My teeth are now plastic;

My knees are elastic;

My hips are titanium spheres;

I'm loosing my hearing;

My eyesight is nearing;

All I have left are my tears!

With so many parts of me gone on ahead;

How will I know when I'm dead?
